Minimum Starting Salary: $48,391 – Negotiable Based on Experience
 
The Department of Environmental Quality, seeks a highly qualified candidate to manage the agency’s NPS nutrient trading program. The selected candidate will assist in the development and implementation of policies, regulations, guidance and program manuals for managing the NPS nutrient trading program; develops and implements guidance, NPS credit certification procedures, policies and regulations in order to ensure a legally defensible and technically sound NPS trading program; provides day-to-day oversight and coordination for the agency’s NPS trading program including review and approval of NPS banks and management of the Virginia nutrient credit registry.
 
Qualifications:  The successful candidate will possess considerable knowledge, skills and abilities in the following key competencies:
 
  • Environmental Engineering Principles
  • Environmental Science
  • Agricultural & Urban BMPs
  • Development & Interpretation of Federal/State Environmental Laws & Regulations
  • Program & Project Management
  • Computer Database Operations
  • Oral & Written Communication
  
Qualifications preferred but not required: Graduation from an accredited college or university with degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or related field or a combination of education, experience, and training.
