Job Summary
Ecotrust seeks a Grants Coordinator to support and implement a grants strategy that will elevate and amplify Ecotrust’s impact in the world. Working closely with the Director of Grants & Funder Impact, the Coordinator serves as a liaison and support between program, development, and finance teams, assisting with grant proposals and reporting, maintaining accurate financial and donor records, and sustaining the systems for outstanding grants management at Ecotrust.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate positive working relationships among program, development, and finance teams to ensure close coordination and collaboration on grant proposals and reports, and on funder cultivation and stewardship.
  • Manage the master calendar of grant deadlines and proactively communicate timelines and requirements to responsible staff.  
  • Ensure on-time submission of grant proposals and reports – including accurate budgets and financial reports.
  • Maintain funder records in the development database, including grant tracking, funder cultivation, and reporting expectations. 
  • With leadership from the Director of Grants & Funder Impact, help maintain a streamlined grants management process and support the creation of a more robust funding pipeline for key projects and initiatives.
  • In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Grants Coordinator may be asked to perform departmental administrative tasks, such as donor data entry, special event support, or travel coordination.

Required:

  • Awareness of racial disparities faced by BIPOC communities, and commitment to mindful redistribution of wealth and power to support racial equity through fundraising.
  • Action-oriented and independent, with an ability to anticipate and identify gaps in information and proactively seek out that information.
  • Proficient with tech and tools, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT) and Google Drive
  • Established work ethic, motivated, and dependable. 
  • Familiarity with non-profit operations and a basic knowledge of grant-seeking processes.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and adaptably with others, often under tight deadlines.   

Preferred But Not Required:

  • Skill with database applications (Raiser’s Edge a plus), and familiarity with constituent data tracking and reporting. 
  • Experience seeking, writing, or managing grants at a non-profit organization; government grant experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of organization and project budgets, and familiarity with non-profit accounting processes.

Additional Information:


Salary range: $43,0000 – $50,000 DOE
FTE: 40 hours/week 
This is a position on Ecotrust’s Development Team, based in Portland, Oregon.
