About NBC Nebraska Scottsbluff (KNEP):
NBC Nebraska Scottsbluff is dedicated to serving the Panhandle of Nebraska. The television station has been a part of the Scottsbluff community for more than 60-years. However, in 2016 NBC Nebraska Scottsbluff was re-launched with a new brand mission to provide more local news to western Nebraska, also known as the Panhandle. NBC Nebraska Scottsbluff connects Nebraskans with news from the entire state, from Omaha to Lincoln to North Platte, using our network of Nebraska stations which gives NBC Nebraska Scottsbluff more news, weather and sports.
Job Summary/Description:
NBC Nebraska Scottsbluff is seeking a self-driven storyteller to join our studios in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Must be organized, an excellent writer, editor and self-starter. This person will work directly with the news team to build out our coverage and make it meaningful and relatable to our viewers.
Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Produce and anchor evening newscasts
- Write, shoot, edit news stories on a daily basis
- Posting daily stories to the website for digital audiences
- Facebook Live/other social media tasks
- Come in to work daily with turnable story ideas
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. of gear
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to shoot and edit video, write scripts, and communicate effectively
- Degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or related field
- Some experience reporting, filming preferred
- Flexibility in scheduling
- Familiarity with non-linear editing
