Entry-Level Landscape Designer

OLIN is dedicated to affecting positive change through landscape architecture, urban design and planning. We are advocates for the artful creation and transformation of the public realm, and design a range of projects across the globe, including museums, academic and corporate campuses, civic parks, plazas and intimate gardens. Some of our award-winning designs include Bryant Park in New York, The J. Paul Getty Center in Los Angeles, and The Barnes Museum in Philadelphia. OLIN is the recipient of the National Design Award from the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Landscape Designer to work in our Philadelphia studio, located in vibrant Center City adjacent to City Hall.  

A Landscape Designer's responsibilities include:

Design and Construction Drawings
•Produces design concepts and studies and develops design concepts prepared by self and others
•Develops and finesses problem‑solving skills by focusing on most pertinent issues, and by being able to quickly produce different and viable schemes
•Produces presentation sketches and renderings appropriate for type of presentation
•Demonstrates professional knowledge through technical contributions to project document development and independently produces technical drawings
•Can provide "first check" of a construction drawing package

Specifications, Cost Estimates and Reports
•Becomes familiar with specification use and organization, and contributes to research as requested
•Produces cost estimates under direction of Project Manager
•Contributes to report preparation, such as schematic design and design development phase summaries, Feasibility Studies, and Master Plan Reports

Construction
•Assists in tree tagging
•Reviews submittals and shop drawings and assists in some field observations

Management
•Manages own time appropriately, and time of Draftsperson/Intern
•Works constructively within team
•Prioritizes tasks as necessary to meet deadlines and fee budgets
•Meets deadlines
•Attends meetings as requested
•Becomes familiar with review and approvals processes, permitting, and local agencies
•Works on promotional work graphically and contributes to fee assessments as requested
•Begins network development with peers and with colleagues in aligned professions
