Student Researcher - Engineering porous protein crystals and agarose beads as functional components for RNA biosensors
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering is seeking a student researcher for Dr. Snow's lab this summer.
Duties:
- Work within a team to synthesize and validate porous protein crystals capable of conditional luminescence using the split NanoLuc enzyme
- Work within a team to synthesize and validate agarose beads conjugated to DNA strands capable of isothermal strand exchange in which a specific RNA sequence displaces a transmitter DNA strand
- Work within a team to optimize the performance of simple microfluidic devices in which strand-exchange beads release a transmitter strand that activates luminescence in the readout crystals
Hours: up to 40 per week
Payrate: $13.00 per hour
Colorado State University may require background checks on all final Candidates.
