Intern, Technical Writer

Job Summary

EP Systems is recruiting for a Technical Writer internship (Pathways) position. If you are interested in experiencing all aspects of planning, developing, and authoring technical documentation in a highly successful start-up that is pioneering cutting-edge, electric propulsion technologies for the aviation, aerospace, automotive, marine, and space industries, we are interested in talking to you!


Technical Writer Responsibilities

  • Plan, draft, revise, and copy edit technical documents and presentations for the engineering and quality departments
  • Communicate effectively across a multidisciplinary, matrixed organization
  • Advise on the use of correct written English
  • Develop company standards and templates for documentation
 

Technical Writer Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program, pursuing a degree in technical communications, English, or STEM (juniors, seniors, and graduate students)
  • Ability to tackle logical problem solving
  • Ability to manage parallel development of multiple, interrelated documents
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Understanding of technical writing principles and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively in writing
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess professional, technical proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Authoring experience related to technology (preferred)
  • Experience with peer tutoring or collaborative copy editing (preferred)
