Financial Advisor Intern
One on one instruction is available for a student interested in learning about the field of Wealth Management and the career of Financial Advisor. Topics covered will include: basic financial planning, basic investment selection, portfolio construction and maintenance, business etiquette, and client communications. The student will assist in the process of helping clients with stock, bond, and mutual fund selection as well as financial advice to increase wealth, retirement lifestyle, managing tax burdens, and charitable giving.
Qualifications required: No previous experience in finance is required, however, preference will be given to candidates who have an interest in possibly pursuing a career in the financial markets. Students who are considering a career in other areas of finance, such as Financial Analysis, will also be considered. Students must be willing to travel to Washington, DC at least once per week and must be willing to wear business attire when interacting with clients. At least one year of college level studies completed in any discipline. Successful interns may be considered for a full-time career as a financial advisor.

We have a large team of Financial Advisors who help their clients develop and implement financial plans and investment portfolios. As a group, we manage several hundred million dollars in client assets. These assets are held in IRAs, 401ks, Investment Brokerage Accounts, and other instruments such as insurance and banking products. Interns will be instructed by several members of the staff, including David Voorhees, President, Wealth Management (Washington, DC).
