Behavioral Health Technician

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for Community Programs serves as the direct-service clinician that enacts the skills proposed in the treatment plan with the client and their caregivers. They are responsible for utilizing, under the guidance of the Behavior Consultant (BC) and/or Behavior Analyst (BA), Applied Behavior Analysis to build target skills and decrease maladaptive behaviors.

TSS/BHT must complete 40 hours of RBT training before seeing clients in-person.
Valid Driver’s License.
Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Provide one on one Applied Behavior Analysis intervention to children with Autism to foster improvement in their goals and objectives as outlined in the treatment plan. This includes but is not limited to: Intensive Teaching, familiarity with Verbal Operants, Mand Training, Shaping, Natural Environment Teaching, and Behavioral Contingencies.
Structures sessions and prepares activities that appropriately address the clients’ goals and objectives, both independently and with the assistance of the BCBA/BC.
Support and assist the caregiver in their efforts to develop the client by utilizing transfer of skills (modeling, teaching, role-play, etc.) and encouragement of session participation.
Provide a therapeutic environment, using the principles of pairing and reinforcement to develop the child from a strength based approach.
Works collaboratively with the BCBA and/or BC, Supervisor, Case Managers, Program Manager and other team members to ensure the treatment plan meets the client’s needs and is being carried out effectively.
Ensure all documentation is completed professionally, legibly and submitted in a timely manner.
Takes behavioral data effectively and routinely in accordance with the treatment plan.
