Engineering Internship - Mechanical or Electrical
AMA Consulting Engineers, P.C. is a multi-disciplined professional services firm providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection engineering services. We also provide commissioning, testing and design-build services and are connected with TM Technology Partners, consultants for low voltage systems, including IT / Telecomm, Security and Audio-Visual Systems.
We are currently recruiting electrical and mechanical interns to join our Engineering team in our East Cost offices - New York, NY; Madison, NJ; Miami, FL. We look for candidates that are enrolled in a mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering program and are ready to learn about a real-life application for the fundamentals that are taught in the classroom. The internship will be in-person, with some remote connection days included.
Duties will include but not be limited to the following: developing load calculations; assisting in preparation of drawings sets using AutoCAD and Revit drawing platforms; evaluating engineering guidelines and code requirements; joining on-site field inspections and project meetings; coordination with equipment vendors and other designers. Programs used include MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Microsoft Teams, as well as AutoCAD and Revit.
The internship is paid, based on a 40-hour work week. Work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 – 5:30.
