Communications Intern
Job Description
The Communications Video Intern is a part-time position that assists the CSU Office of International Programs Communications Manager with videos, graphics, social media postings, and other promotional outreach efforts. This position plays an integral role in engaging CSU students, faculty and staff in international activities at Colorado State University.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, the Communications Intern will:
- Create and edit video productions. DP, V/WC, C, CT/PS
- Promote virtual events through web, social media, and print outlets. V/WC, GC, DP
- Write video descriptions, stories, and profiles. V/WC, DP
- Help with graphic design tasks. C, CT/PS, DP
- Write social media posts. V/WC, C, DP
- Write articles and press releases. V/WC
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks as necessary. C, PA, CT/PS, SR, GC
Required Skills
- Experience with and interest in video creation and editing platforms, such as Adobe Premiere Rush or Premiere Pro. C, DP
- Excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills. V/WC
- Ability to write in a range of styles for various target demographics. V/WC, C
- Knowledge of social media platforms and strategies. DP, PA, CT/PS, C
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be available to work either remotely with own equipment or in the office during academic year 2021-2022 (depending on COVID-19 restrictions). PA, DP, V/WC, CD
- Must be available to work Monday – Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Preferred Skills
- Existing work study award or be able to request and receive a non-need work study award through RamWeb before the start date.
- Familiarity with basic principles of videography, photography, design, and branding. DP, C, V/WC, CT/PS
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Vimeo, and WordPress. DP, C, V/WC, CT/PS
- Experience with IGTV, Facebook Live, and/or YouTube Live. DP, C, CT/PS
- International experience. GC
Expected Start Date: 8/23/21
Number of openings: 1-3 depending on skills (posting will remain open until filled)
