Student Media/Comm Assistant I
The Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER) at MSU is looking for a self-motivated student who thrives at the intersection between technical and creative skills. The ICER Student Media/Comm Assistant I will be a valued member of the team who contributes to the fundamental tasks involved in engaging and informing varied audiences about the impact of ICER. This position will be remote during Summer 2021 due to COVID-19.
Job Responsibilities:
-Regularly update and maintain the ICER online presence, including the website and social media accounts
-Collaborate on written, photo, and video content designed to tell engaging stories about complex computational research
-Assist with the development and promotion of training course materials designed for ICER users
-Design professional and appealing graphics to support the responsibilities mentioned above
Qualifications:
-Enthusiasm for science communication
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to learn new computational science topics at the depth necessary to explain them to someone else in simple terms
-Strong understanding of best practices on social media platforms
Desired Skills (not required):
-Experience with the Adobe Suite
-Experience with Drupal Web Content Management
-Knowledge of fundamental photo and video principles
