Social Media & Web Marketing Specialist
At BMC, the Social Media and Web Marketing Specialist will work with the Social Media and Web Marketing Manager to help implement the company’s social media strategy, engage with and grow our national B2B target audience, monitor the brand’s online reputation, and create content for various digital channels. This position will require good judgement and the ability to make effective decisions in order to successfully communicate on our public platforms. Responsibilities will also include managing company social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and other emerging channels/platforms.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Cultivate an active online community by engaging with users on social media platforms.
· Analyze industry-specific hashtags, trending topics, and potential influencer partnerships to help increase brand awareness.
· Provide analysis and recommendations on social media strategies that align with organizational initiatives and goals
· Identify user-generated content opportunities and document re-share permissions.
· Work independently to monitor and respond to company reviews and escalate internally as needed.
· Work cross-functionally with internal departments (including but not limited to Customer Service, Human Resources, Sourcing & Supply Chain, Pro Remodel and IT), and outside agencies,
· Manage social media inboxes and respond to inquiries received via social media channels in a timely manner.
· Coordinate with industry partners and vendors to gather assets needed for digital channels.
· Collaborate with graphic designers to create assets for social and web purposes.
· Formulate social media house rules, terms and conditions, and contest rules for various campaigns and platforms.
· Research and write value-add, on-brand content for social and web channels.
· Optimize and enhance our online directory listings by collecting data and make updates as needed.
· Assist with search engine optimization (SEO) efforts including keyword research, upgrading existing content, and auditing website to pinpoint errors and potential improvements.
· Partner with marketing managers to execute digital campaigns across multiple channels to support company objectives.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or communications.
Minimum Experience:
· 1 - 2 years of hands-on experience coordinating digital content for a medium to large [public] organization, preferably in the B2B space.
· Possesses basic understanding of user experience and creating content with the customer journey in mind.
- Excellent communication and writing skills (writing samples required).
- Solid understanding of social media channels/platforms, trends, and optimization strategies for platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and other emerging channels.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to produce interesting and engaging narratives from ordinary topics.
- Demonstrates winning social customer service approach aligned with company’s culture and voice.
· Experience working with social media publishing tools like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Tailwind, etc.
· Microsoft Office proficient.
Preferred Experience:
· Familiarity with Google My Business, Google Analytics, Yext, and/or Photoshop preferred.
· Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
