Senior Environmental Specialist
Working under the general supervision of the Environmental Program Manager I (Supervisory), the incumbent researches and develops proposed and final environmental permitting packages consistent with the program’s functional equivalency status under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Independently evaluates, analyzes, and interprets complex scientific data/evaluations in the scientific disciplines of toxicology, ecotoxicology, chemistry, environmental fate, microbiology, air, and water. Based on assessments of data evaluations and investigative skills, develops public reports to support the registration or amendment of pesticide products and carries out the goals and objectives of the program to protect the State’s natural resources and public health. Responsible for analyzing and responding to written public comments raising significant adverse environmental points on proposed registration decisions.
