Social Media Ambassadors

The New York Institute of Technology Social Media Ambassadors Program is a 16-week job opportunity for current undergraduate and graduate students.

Social Media Ambassadors Qualifications:
New York Tech Social Media Ambassadors must be high-energy, enthusiastic students who are passionate about New York Tech. Successful candidates will also: 
  • Be active on campus (student-leader, athlete, and/or student-ran club).
  • Maintain relationships with other students, student-run programs, faculty, and staff.
  • Be personable and dynamic on social media in order to promote campus activity and create engagement. 
  • Be creative and out-of-the-box thinkers.
  • Be able to identify opportunities to engage with current and prospective students.
  • Have a strong social media presence on multiple platforms. 
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have experience in creating online content
  • Have video editing or social media content creation skills.


Primary Job Duties: 
Student Ambassadors will be expected to:
  • Actively promote New York Tech campus life on their designated social media handles. 
  • Post a minimum of three times a week and diligently use the #NewYorkTech hashtag. 
  • Schedule and coordinate a monthly social media content calendar.
  • Create and execute new social media campaign ideas.
  • Participate in New York Tech Twitter chats ( #NewYorkTechchats) and help garner partnerships and topics for the monthly Twitter chats. 
  • Promote campus happenings/events on their designated social media handles.
  • Create or have an established YouTube channel and update it on a monthly or bi-monthly basis with New York Tech related content. 
  • Be active on Merit Pages and encourage other students to use this platform.
  • Attend and cover campus events (homecoming, final roar, The Big Give, commencement) for their social media platforms. 
  • Submit a monthly analytics report on their New York Tech content based on their reach, engagement, impressions.
