Music Instructor / Band Director
Missouri Military Academy is seeking a Band Director starting in January 2021.
The ideal candidate is a licensed teacher with teaching and marching band experience. Applicants must have a sound understanding of best practices in teaching the subject area to 7th-12th grades. Persons with expertise in multiple academic areas and/or coaching experience are highly desirable. A commitment to the academic and social/emotional growth of students is essential. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency using digital and online platforms for remote instruction as well as classroom teaching.
A degree in Music or related field required, master’s degree and previous teaching experience preferred. Prior military background preferred. Faculty members serve in a wide capacity across the campus including: sponsoring clubs, participating in student life activities, as academic advisors, and chaperoning field trips. Being able to work collaboratively with fellow faculty members and residential staff is critical for this position. Candidates should be realistic and excited about the challenges and rewards of teaching and working in a boarding school environment.
