Communications Intern
JOB SUMMARY
Djoly Souffrant, LLC seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing while working in a business casual work environment. The Djoly Souffrant, LLC Communications Internship is a professional skill internship to assist the President in implementing organizational communications and marketing strategies. The Communications Intern will work independently and with a team to fulfill organizational goals and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a media and digital enthusiast, with exceptional writing and design skills, a strong interest and background in impact communications, and demonstrated curiosity. This is a paid internship with a bi-weekly stipend.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:
· Assist in planning, writing and managing e-blasts and e-newsletters.
· Update organization website using Wordpress with current events, relevant news, etc.
· Design event/program fliers, graphics and other marketing material
· Assist with General administrative tasks (answering phones, greeting customers, scheduling, emails)
· Presentation and report development and design, including Prezi and PowerPoint;
· Copywriting and editing, including developing original content under direction and editing from multiple contributors.
· Utilizing online metrics tools (such as Google Analytics) to report on statistics for websites, social media sites, email campaigns, and online advertising.
· Community management on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Has or is working towards a Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, or related field.
Desired Skills include, but may not be limited to, the following:
· Understanding of the basic principle of public relations and/or marketing;
· Excellent Microsoft Office Skills;
· Strong grasp of social media management and campaign development;
· Experience with WordPress or web maintenance preferred;
· Understanding of web marketing and Google analytics;
· Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
· Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
· High level of computer literacy and ability to learn new technology quickly;
· Experience with Prezi a plus;
· Experience with Final Cut Pro or equivalent video editing a plus;
· Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team to meet program needs;
· Energy, enthusiasm, and a good sense of humor;
· Strong organizational skills, good time management and attention to detail required; and
· Availability to start working in January/February 2021.
Start Date: Position open until filled, requires a 3 – 6 month commitment.
Hours: 10 – 20 hours/week, including weekly planning meeting with leadership
Compensation: Bi-weekly stipend ($10/hour)
