Planner I
Description
Under general supervision, performs responsible planning and research work in the Town’s Planning and Zoning Division. Position is primarily responsible for reviewing applications for compliance with Town zoning and land development regulations and performing special study projects, as needed. The position reports to the Planning and Zoning Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
- Graduation from a four year college or university with a degree in Urban, City or Regional Planning, Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Two (2) years of experience as a planner, surveyor, or computer-aided draftsperson
An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
REQUIRED
- A valid Class "E" Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; must be physically able to operate a vehicle.
Special Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
