Job Summary
This position provides orientation, initial intake to Rehabilitation Services and information and referral based on an extensive knowledge of assistance available from Career Force Center partners and other community organizations. Delivers direct services to participant. Processes purchasing of goods and services for participants.  The person in this position works collaboratively with all other VR Staff in the fiscal management of VR Services and is a good steward of fiscal resources. The person in this role specializes in fiscal knowledge and skills for the team. Provides caseload management support and follow-up services to support participants in their rehabilitation process. Explains availability of interest and abilities assessments to participants and administers these assessment tools. Processes confidential documents and determines and obtains information needed for comprehensive diagnostic study by professional staff. Provide administrative management and office services. Serves as liaison and back-up to team members.
  1. Provide information to potential customers regarding VR Mission and Services as well as to maintain knowledge regarding community resources.
  2. To provide direct support services to persons with disabilities.
  3. Process sensitive financial documents and arrange for the purchase of goods and services for participants.
  4. To provide individual and/or group workshops to assist people to prepare for, get, and retain employment.
  5. To Assist Customers Access Services from Career Force Partners.
Position Qualifications
A minimum of one year of experience in an organization (public or private) whose mission includes the provision of services to persons who are injured or disabled so that an understanding and sensitivity toward people with disabilities has been obtained.
Customer Service Skills (phone, in person, public presentations) sufficient to perform intake, to assist with forms completion, to build rapport with consumers and interact with them throughout the rehabilitation process.
Keyboarding sufficient to create correspondence, enter data in a database.
Accounting/Math skills sufficient to accurately calculate financial aid for tuition, books, etc. and to process payments in SWIFT. Strong skills are needed in this area as this position is responsible for preparing and processing numerous financial documents/transactions.
English (Speaking, Writing and Reading) sufficient to interview consumers and employers, present job-seeking skills training, and to draft correspondence or complete forms.
