Continued Care Coordinator
Position:
Continued Care and Administrative Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, completed AMI Montessori training or willing to become trained
- Current or willing to obtain requirements such as CPR/AED Training and Mandated Reporter Training and other staff file requirements related to DCF, DPI, NAC, AMI, and OEO
- Registry Certificate of 7 or higher (Early Education Coursebooks to receive necessary training, if applicable)
- Possess an attitude that reflects a belief in the philosophy of the IMA organization
- Physically capable to work with children on the floor, stairs, and playground, as well as to lift materials, classroom furniture, and clean
- A strong understanding of education, child development, and positive classroom engagement techniques
- Strong communication and organizational skills, supervisory experience preferred

- Be physically, mentally, and emotionally present with children, staff, and families at all times and adhere to policies and procedures regarding screen usage, positive communication, and classroom engagement
- Use careful observation and caring interactions with children, Montessori teachers and staff must first believe in each child and guide each child to reach his/her full potential by supporting the planes of development, human tendencies, and sensitive periods
- Supervise daily activities for the indoor and outdoor environments
- Maintain classroom and workspace in a clean, orderly, and safe fashion and assist in daily operations of school (answer phones, take out garbage and recycling, collect mail, send mail, etc. as may be necessary)
- Continue to work towards anti-bias, anti-racist, and whole-person education
- Communicate daily with the Heads of School
Specific Job Duties:
- During COVID-19:
- Work directly with the children in Emergency Care Programming to support their Distance Learning experience and needs
- Support the IMAP Director of Admissions and Student Affairs in coordinating enrollment in the Emergency Care Program
- Communicate daily/weekly with IMAP Lead Guides and Supporting Educators regarding Distance Learning expectations and work requirements as to best support the student’s work completion
- Complete lesson plans and student observations weekly in accordance with DCF and NAC requirements
- Adhere to all COVID-19 cleaning procedures and protocols for heavily used areas and materials, including restrooms and common areas
School Day:
- Coordinate staff absences for Continued Care Programs
- Hold daily check-ins with After School team
- Attend all staff meetings
- Answering phone calls, taking messages, bringing materials and communications to and from classrooms, filing staff and student information, and executing other administrative tasks
- Daily School scheduling: Assist in implementing any staff scheduling changes, verifying adequate staff scheduling
- Daily After School scheduling: receive and return emails/phone calls in regards to After School drop-in requests, verifying student-teacher ratios are compliant with licensing
- Greeting students, staff, and families as they enter and exit the building
- Working in classrooms as a floating assistant during down times (nap room, lunch and bathroom break coverage), if needed
- Recruiting and overseeing volunteers brought into the school and Continued Care Programs
Before and After School Programming:
- Holding formal and informal check-ins with Before and After School Staff
- Strong communication between classroom teacher and parent pick-up in regards to daytime updates with students
- Oversee lesson plan development and implementation for After School program
- Adhere to all licensing regulations from the Department of Children and Families and the National Accreditation Commission
- Oversee volunteers
- Working with students in After School, and filling in for absent After School teachers
