Purchasing Internship (University Housing and Dining - Dining)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program allows students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage. Due to COVID-19, we are currently planning for each of our internships to take place virtually. Housing assistance may be provided on a case by case basis after internship positions are offered. Undergraduate students are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 31, 2021 to August 6, 2021. The application is due February 14, 2021.

The Office

University Housing and Dining (UHD) is in the Division of Student Affairs and is responsible for all on-campus residence facilities and the University Apartments. UHD operates its own residence life, food service, business, custodial, maintenance and information systems departments. University Housing and Dining cultivates inclusive learning communities that foster student engagement, growth and success.

The Project

The intern will conduct research and collect data related to UHD Dining. The intern will be part of the Specific Menu of Change principles to move the department toward their sustainability goals. The intern will take a role in the project’s goal of obtaining sustainable and local products following the Menus of Change Principle.

Things You’ll Do

  • Conduct research and collect data related to UHD Dining.
  • Collaborate on the Specific Menu of Change principles to move the department toward their sustainability goals.
  • Assist in the project’s goal of obtaining sustainable and local products following the Menus of Change Principal 
  • Participate in all required Division of Student Affairs Internship Program cohort activities and assessments

Who You Are (Qualifications)

  • Preference for business or nutrition majors
