Development Internship (Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program 
 
The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program allows students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage. Due to COVID-19, we are currently planning for each of our internships to take place virtually. Housing assistance may be provided on a case by case basis after internship positions are offered. Undergraduate students are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 31, 2021 to August 6, 2021. The application is due February 14, 2021.

The Office

The Division of Student Affairs Development Team, housed in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA), collaborates with units and departments within the Division and Texas Development to support scholarships, programs, initiatives, facilities, and more. Our team is comprised of a Development Director, Development Engagement Coordinator, and two student workers. Together, we cover all aspects of development for the Division of Student Affairs including endowments, stewardship, events, contact reports, and much more. Our mission is to serve the students of The University by complying with University Development practices and standards while also keeping the values and mission of Student Affairs as a priority. 

The Project

The intern will complete the VIP (UT’s donor database) training. The student will create and the support development of events. They will work with departmental stakeholders to ensure best practices and manage stewardships practice. The intern will create project plans, budget analyses, and reports.

Things You’ll Do

  • Train in VIP Database, UT’s donor database system designed to record data, create reports, and track gifts
  • Create and support development of events
  • Work with departmental stakeholders to ensure best practices and manage stewardships practice
  • Create project plans, budget analyses, and reports.  
  • Participate in all required Division of Student Affairs Internship Program cohort activities and assessments
