Social Media and Outreach Strategist Internship (UHS & CMHC - Public Information)

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program

The Division of Student Affairs Internship Program allows students to spend a summer handling a special project for the university designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Interns will work 19 hours per week for 10-weeks. These part-time internship positions offer a competitive compensation package that includes an hourly wage. Due to COVID-19, we are currently planning for each of our internships to take place virtually. Housing assistance may be provided on a case by case basis after internship positions are offered. Undergraduate students are eligible to apply. The internship runs from May 31, 2021 to August 6, 2021. The application is due February 14, 2021.

The Office

The Public Information Team supports the missions of University Health Services and the Counseling and Mental Health Center by implementing marketing and promotional strategies for health initiatives and events. The public information team maintains the social media of the Healthyhorns. 

The Position

The position will focus on researching and curating content for the Healthyhorns social media account and developing the Fall 2021 social media strategy. The intern will evaluate the effectiveness of content across platforms contributing to outreach and engagement strategies for new UT students and provide student feedback for web redesign.

Things You’ll Do

  • Research and curating content for the Healthyhorns social media account
  • Develop the Fall 2021 social media strategy
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of content across platforms contributing to outreach and engagement strategies for new UT students
  • Provide student feedback for web redesign. 
  • Participate in all required Division of Student Affairs Internship Program cohort activities and assessments

Who You Are (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Marketing, advertising, or other communications related field of study 
  • Experience in digital media and content management 
  • Experience managing social media for an organization or business 
  • Knowledge or interest in health and well-being
