Game Industry Public Relations Intern

Summary
We are seeking an experienced Video Game Industry Public Relations Manager/intern. This position requires an exceptional storyteller with a deep understanding of the video game industry, and strong game industry media relationships, to present  BGV positively in the public’s eyes. Remuneration 
Estimated time per month is 20+ hours (more initially), either at a flat monthly rate or accrued XP for rev share. The right person will eventually earn a full-time position with salary plus rev share. Rev share is based upon a percent of the revenues generated from the sales of products (usually several times greater than profits). We have multiple products ready for release, with a long pipeline of future products.

A Day in the Life of Our Public Relations Manager/Intern
The Video Game Industry Public Relations Manager will develop and execute all content aimed at media (newspapers, cable TV, radio, web sites, etc.) distribution. 

Responsibilities
All efforts at BGV are project-based and follow the format below:
  • Initiating: Identifying all newsworthy elements of our operations, and creating a list of media contacts (journalists, publishers, etc.) who will be interested in knowing such.
  • Planning:  Develops a quick plan that lays out the PR Team’s tasks for this effort. 
  • Execution: The PR Team performs the tasks laid out in the Plan: Develop press releases, arrange media interviews, set up live/virtual events, etc.
  • Monitoring & Controlling: Follow up with those contacted, review analytics related to efforts (and perform process improvement), and build relationships for future efforts.
  • Closing: Tally publishing & exposure rates and present results of efforts to BGV management.

Your Superpower Skill Sets
Must be a team player (puts the Team first!) collaborates with the marketing, development, operations, and finance teams, to present BGV in a manner that helps us achieve our mission. 
  • Results-driven, motivated self-starter who takes initiative seriously. With proper guidance, you are a self-sufficient multi-tasker, who enjoys applying your creativity in everything you do.  Keen attention to detail and timelines.
  • Knowledge of the gaming industry and strong industry media contacts.
  • A strong record in creating articles that stands out from the crowd (and get results).
  • Procedurally generates awesome content and new ideas to build our brand.
  • Listens and communicates well, is coachable, asks questions (doesn’t make assumptions).
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications and a minimum of 3 years experience getting video game industry press releases published via a wide variety of media.
