Corporate Engagement Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Corporate Engagement Manager is accountable for managing and engaging an assigned portfolio of accounts of major partner corporations/organizations year-round to maximize relationships. Develops and implements workplace campaign strategies tailored to individual companies and designed to position United Way as the philanthropic partner of choice in community change. Ensures the delivery of a year-round engaging experience for all donors and volunteers. In addition, the Corporate Engagement Manager will be customer-focused, data-driven, innovative and results-oriented.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

Corporate Account Management – 60% 
 Build and maintain relationships with key contacts at portfolio of workplace campaign accounts. Portfolio may include 40-80 accounts of varying size.
 Drive revenue growth in assigned workplace giving portfolio by developing and executing unique workplace campaign strategies as part of tailored engagement plans for companies. Review corporate campaign history and trends, developing targeted strategies and plans in support of goals. 
 Develop, oversee, and analyze corporate giving goals, projections, pledge information, and specific and data-driven action plans to ensure cultivation and stewardship of corporate partnerships. Actively monitor results to goals and engage in corrective measures and recovery strategies during the year to achieve target results.
 Frequently engage with accounts year-round, building deep relationships and identifying additional strategies to drive revenue such as corporate grant applications or employee engagement services. 
 Use best practices to build Leadership ($1,000+) and Tocqueville ($10,000+) pipeline in workplace campaigns. Help cultivate Major Gifts in workplace campaigns, creating linkages with Major Gifts team. 
 Identify and cultivate new business opportunities. 
 Co-own fundraising goals with the Resource Development team, ultimately achieving goals. 
 Lead and coach United Way Ambassadors (temporary campaign associates) in campaign support. 
 Engage in planning for United Way events, identifying and defining fundraising opportunities associated with events. 

Stewardship – 20% 
 Cultivate and steward year-round relationships with corporate stakeholders including influencers, decision-makers, senior leadership, and potentially C-Suite level corporate stakeholders.  
 Identify and understand the history, corporate culture, operating rhythms, philanthropic goals, key personnel, business health, position in corporate landscape, and objectives of corporations in portfolio. 
 Ensure there is a comprehensive plan in place to thank donors in workplace campaigns and inform them on how their gift is being used. 
 Attend United Way events, networking events, as well as related meetings where designated corporate and community stakeholders are represented to enhance relationships with current corporate stakeholders as well as cultivate prospective new supporters. 
Data Management – 10% 
 Adhere to data standards and protocols for capturing and recording information related to portfolio of accounts.
 Ensure corporate accounts in database are accurate and populated with current contact info, duplicates are removed, s/he are correctly attached as the manager of the accounts in their portfolios, and accounts are up-to-date. 
 Ensure the data is managed and leveraged, analyzing data and reports for opportunity and risk identification.
 File activity reports regularly. 

Volunteer Management – 10% 
 Assist in selection and recruitment of fundraising volunteers and ensure that they receive appropriate orientation and training. 
 Work closely with senior/key volunteers to ensure that they remain engaged and motivated; ensure that they are well-prepared for all meetings, calls, and events.
Overarching Goals and Objectives – Daily 
 Advocate for the advancement of UWMC in our community 
 Maintain professional and organizational standards while representing UWMC within external community 
 Display a business professional appearance 
 Display passion for UWMC’s mission 
 Maintain a service-oriented work ethic 
 Demonstrate respect and appreciation for diversity 
 Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS   
 Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent of employment and education experience
 Minimum three to five years work experience in fundraising, account management and sales or related field Experience utilizing consultative selling practices in fundraising a plus
 Customer focused, data-driven, innovative, results oriented
 Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Comfortable presenting to groups of various sizes
 Outstanding communication skills with ability to modify tone and communications vehicle to best suit the audience
 Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and judgment skills required
 Possess a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize concurrent projects and day to day tasks within a fast-paced environment
 Fully proficient with Microsoft Office Environment
 To achieve fundraising goals, spends at least 50% of time in the field with account. Must have access to a vehicle when necessary with valid Illinois Driver’s License
