Marketing and Communications Internship
Reports to: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Pay Category: Unpaid
Other compensation: Occasional food and travel
Required Hours: 15-20 hours per week (2-3 days per week)
Overview of responsibilities:
- Assist in the production of marketing content for email, print, web, and social media platforms
- Monitor and moderate interaction on these platforms as well as analyze data from various outlets
- Analyze marketing and communications trends in the museum and nonprofit arts fields
- Develop press releases and other public relations content
- Research ways to expand Intuit's digital and print reach
- Establish mutually beneficial community partnerships
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Provide general support to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator
- Interact with staff, board members, volunteers, interns, curators, artists, lenders, vendors, museum visitors, and other constituents through written and verbal communication on a regular basis
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Previous communications, marketing, public relations, or creative internship/volunteer experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social media platforms
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design programs preferred
- Interest in museums and nonprofit arts organizations preferred
- Strong copy editing and writing skills
- High level of professionalism
- Good interpersonal skills
