About Our Internship Program 
We are currently seeking motivated Communications students for the Summer 2021 Internship Program located at our world headquarters in New Britain, CT. Selected students will participate in a meaningful and challenging 10-week summer internship that will allow each intern to have exposure to different facets of corporate, receive critical business skills and career and personal development training. Interns will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects within a cross-functional team of professionals and get exposure to leaders within the business.

Key Responsibilities (may include but not limited to): 
  • Assist with daily Internal and/or External Communications tasks that relate to content curation for internal on Stanley Black & Decker Workplace channel 
  • Assist with developing content for external social media channels if needed, support employee engagement and employer branding initiatives 
  • Participate in a group summer project (Traveler’s Championship activation) in June with fellow interns, which consists of developing a plan of sponsorship assets, managing budget, managing volunteer activities, and helping drive tool sales at the shopping spree 
  • Report out on all internship activities, as well as providing a summary of the Traveler’s Championship activation. 
Our Requirements: 
  • Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or other related field 
  • Proven Leadership in and out of the classroom 
  • Fast learner and someone that takes the initiative 
  • Results-oriented 
  • Knowledge/Skills of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Excel – intermediate to advanced skills required 
  • Basic understanding/ability to navigate web-based programs 
  • Effective Follow-up/Communication skills required 
  • Strong Project Management/Organizational Skills
