Financial Analyst I/II
Responsibilities
Principal is actively seeking an individual with especially strong technical and collaboration skills for a Financial Analyst role! In this role you will be working on the Pricing Team for Individual Life!
Responsibilities will include:
- Participate in the maintenance, preparation and analysis of financial information used in the product development and pricing processes
- Work with a variety of spreadsheets and the ALFA Pricing System to set rates for products, complete state insurance filing, build macros, provide reinsurance support and much more
- Utilize your technical skills to do financial research and calculations as well as build new tools and improve existing tools
- Provide support to other departments
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Intermediate Excel Skills (V-Look Ups, Pivot Tables, Data Summary, etc..)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to continuously grow through intellectual curiosity. Comfortable collaborating with all staff levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or work experience in the financial services industry
- Advanced Excel skills (VBA, Macros, etc…)
- Involvement in extracurricular activities or within the community

Job Level
Willing to consider candidates at the Financial Analyst I or II level depending on experience
Location
We are open to filling this role in our corporate headquarters in Des Moines, IA or remotely
