Weekend Edition is looking for our next intern - is it you?
The Weekend Edition team is a tight-knit and collaborative bunch of smart and creative producers, editors and hosts and right now we're looking for a dynamic, resourceful and creative intern to spend three months learning radio journalism.
NPR's Weekend Edition is a weekly newsmagazine that airs Saturday and Sunday mornings and covers the news of the day, puts the news of the week into context and anticipates the news yet to be made.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pitching ideas for host interviews on news and feature topics
- Booking guests for our programs, including doing phone pre-interviews
- Writing host copy and interview questions
- Producing live and pre-recorded host interviews
WHO CAN APPLY?
- LOCATION: Must be planning to work from the United States and authorized to work in the United States throughout the Winter/Spring 2021 internship dates.
- EDUCATION: Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate of no more than 12 months from the month of the start of the internship.
- SCHEDULE: Weekend Edition hours are 9am-6pm ET Wednesday-Friday and 6am-2pm ET Saturday and Sunday
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excellent research skills and an eye for a new angle/perspective on the week’s major news stories
- The ability to find the right expert or first-person voice to illustrate a complicated news topic
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Reporting experience
- Audio editing experience
- Broadcast writing experience
