Ceca Foundation is accepting applications for a volunteer with strong communication and research skills looking to make a difference in the healthcare world either remotely or in our headquarters in Dupont Circle.

Ceca’s mission is to improve the human experience in healthcare communities by honoring the work of exceptional caregivers. By recognizing and rewarding the work of extraordinary caregivers, we’re able to positively impact patients, residents, and families who rely on these community-based organizations for care.

The Ceca Award Program serves as a network for healthcare communities to demonstrate their commitment to core caregiving values, while ensuring staff are engaged and feel appreciated. PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Fundraising Volunteer will provide administrative and research assistance in pursuing fundraising opportunities from individuals, family foundations, institutional funders and others to support Ceca's work of celebrating and honoring exceptional healthcare workers. The volunteer will have the opportunity to work directly with the Ceca leadership team on the project. Approximately 5-10 hours per week is requested.

The ideal volunteer will have:
·      Strong verbal and written communication skills.
·      Interest in healthcare and/or non-profit fundraising.
·      Proficient in conducting research and organizing data.
·      Familiarity with LinkedIn strongly preferred.
·      Proficient in MS Office.

ABOUT CECA FOUNDATION:
Ceca Foundation (derived from “Celebrating caregivers” and is pronounced see´-ka) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Washington, DC, which partners with hospitals, nursing, aging care and other healthcare communities to reward acts of kindness, compassion, creativity and teamwork. Founded by Matthew and Rosemary Lawlor, Ceca seeks to improve the patient experience by publicly recognizing caregivers through its innovative technology platforms (including its software and CecaTV network), support services, and monetary awards—totaling nearly $300,000 to date. DURATION:  Starting Fall 2020 and going through project end; exact dates TBD
 
HOURS/LOCATION:  5 to 10 hours per week; flexible between Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Position can be all remote, but a mix of remote and office time preferred.

COMPENSATION:  No monetary compensation; can be used for college credit if approved by candidate’s institution
