Marketing/Design Intern


Introduction: The Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the Development Team with the implementation of existing marketing and communications strategies as well the development of new strategies. The emphasis of this position is on creating collateral that is both clear in message and visually appealing.

Mandatory skills include graphic design experience, ability to meet deadlines, strong written and oral communication skills, and experience in marketing and social media. This job includes both independent work as well as tasks that require collaboration between different teams.

This is a Part-Time (10-20 hours) Unpaid Internship. Applicants must be getting school credit to be eligible.



I.                   Marketing (Graphic Design + Social Media)

·        Work with Marketing Specialist to refine social media strategy and best practices
·        Assist in managing and analyzing social media channels (including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn)
·        Design and produce marketing materials that support and corresponds with company brand
·        Assist in redesigning all agency print collateral
·        Draft weekly eNewsletter
·        Assist with the maintenance of the Mercy House website
·        Research nonprofits with successful branding or design systems




VII.       Miscellaneous

·        Assist the Development Team with the planning and implementation of activities targeted to meet budgeted revenue goals
·        Assist with fundraising events
·        Attend staff meetings
·        Attend training workshops as needed
·        Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending seminars and conferences and reviewing professional publications.
·        Perform ad hoc projects as appointed by Supervisor or Directors
