We are seeking an applicant who enjoys staying immersed in art, design, and technology. The student graphic designer position is responsible for designing and preparing promotional items for departments of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. This includes concept development, design, revision, and other actions necessary for producing posters, flyers, brochures, newsletters, visual displays, and similar graphic media.



Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, and update print and digital design
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas for different campaigns
  • Determine hierarchy, typography, aesthetics, composition and construction of meaningful layout
  • Maintain high standards of departmental and Boise State University brand standards
  • Receive and provide criticism, work independently on multiple projects, and collaborate with a team
  • Ensure prepress files are correct when sent to printer, review and approve proofs, and confirm completed artwork has been quality checked before delivery to client
  • Complete press check for quality on certain deliverables
  • Implement final printed deliverables throughout campus
  • Assist with layout and visual presentation of sites, including finding, editing and optimizing photographs for web use

Job Skills & Qualifications:

Required
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite—InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Use creativity when approaching new designs 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong layout skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills
  • Deadline-oriented
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Handles critical feedback
Preferred
  • Experience with both print and digital media
  • Adobe Premiere and After Effects experience
  • Degree-seeking in graphic design or art-related field

Title: Student Graphic Designer
Pay Rate: $10 per hour, position suitable for internship credits
Approximate Hours Per Week: 15-20, M-F with flexible hours around school schedule
