Overview
Your career is what you make it, and the same goes for Brunswick’s Leadership Development Program (LDP). Equal parts strategy and execution, the LDP provides an exciting and challenging entry point into general management. This 2-year program is intentionally designed as an unstructured rotational program for new MBA graduates. The goal is to develop strong leaders for our rapidly growing businesses by putting you in a position to make immediate contributions while working side-by-side with executive leaders. Along the way, LDP members are provided networking opportunities with multiple divisions across the US.
The LDP is sponsored directly by Brunswick’s Vice President of Strategy and closely monitored by Brunswick’s executive leadership team. In addition to on-the-job learning experiences, you will also be encouraged to join your cohort for our quarterly programming events which provide exposure to other divisions and locations.
For detailed information, up-to-date communications, and general networking opportunities, please join our LinkedIn Group here! This group will be active for the duration of the interview process. During that time, we'll share behind-the-scenes information about the program through social posts, presentations, and Q&A.

Interview Process and Placement
Candidates interview for acceptance into the overall program, and we will take division and/or location preferences into consideration the best we can. Offers will be division-specific (Mercury Marine, Brunswick Boat Group, Business Acceleration, Corporate, or Advanced Systems Group). Locations for first roles vary based on business needs but often include Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; Mettawa, Illinois; and Edgewater, Florida. Given the company’s strategy to develop leaders for the entire corporation, those with geographic mobility will be more attractive during the selection process.
This is an individualized program, so no two program participants will ever have the same experience. With that said, all LDPs begin their career with the title Manager of Strategy and Business Development and typically hold that position for 12-18 months. This first role offers acclimation to the strategic issues that the company faces as well as impactful project work.
The second position will be in a functional area of the business such as Category/Product/Brand Management, Sales, Operations, Marketing, etc. and is determined based on individual goals, experience, and capabilities, as well as the business needs of the organization.
While each person’s journey is unique, we have found that LDPs typically find themselves in their first position managing a P&L or in a General Management position after roughly 6-9 years with Brunswick.
