Finance Internship
Grainger’s Finance Internship Program is designed to provide college students with relevant business critical project work. Internships will last 10 weeks and are designed to enhance technical and leadership skills needed to succeed at Grainger. The internships may include, but are not limited to the following areas: financial accounting, tax, treasury, audit, financial planning & analytics, finance operations and shared services. We are committed to growing team member skillsets and ensuring they have the right foundation to be successful. Our program is built on the following foundational pillars (1) Experience (2) Exposure and (3) Professional Development:
Experience
- Broad and Cross Functional Opportunities: Interns will experience exponential growth technically, analytically and professionally across multiple functions. This will allow interns to gain in-depth knowledge of the business and add value throughout the organization.
Exposure
- Build Your Knowledge: Interns are placed into a department that complements their current skill sets, along with challenging in new areas by engaging with different perspectives on Finance in a corporate environment.
Professional Development
- Onboarding: Program interns will go through a comprehensive onboarding process, and participate in structured development sessions.
- Skillset Development: Interns will receive on-going coaching to enhance communication, leadership, presentation, and analytical skillsets.
- Leadership Exposure: Interns will meet with executive leaders to learn about different areas of the business.
- Mentorship: Throughout the program, interns receive direct feedback from a peer-mentor, their manager and the program director to help them in their professional development.
- Network: Interns will be able to grow their network and build positive working relationships.
- Community Involvement: Interns give back to the community through program organized philanthropy efforts and have great team building opportunities.
- Have Fun: Interns will participate in company lunch and learns, attend social events with fellow intern colleagues, and more.
Finance Internship Minimum Requirements:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Currently enrolled in a college or University and working towards a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, analytics, data science, or masters in accountancy with strong performance in related business subjects
- Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office is required (especially enhanced Excel capabilities such as v-lookups and using pivot tables).
- Proven analytical skills including an ability to synthesize information, reach logical conclusions, evaluate and improve processes.
- Proven communication (written / verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills required.
- Expected graduation between December 2021 and June 2022
- No visa sponsorships provided now or in the future.
Preferred:
- Proven ability to enhance business knowledge or leadership skills through internships or on-campus involvement.
