Rise Enrichment Program (REP) Teaching Assistant

Job description and requirements:
A teaching assistant at The Rise School of Austin is an educator with a minimum of a child development associates degree. This individual can be working toward a child development associates degree. A teaching assistant is responsible for maintaining a healthy and safe environment. Teaching assistants will be given more responsibilities throughout the school year as requested and determined appropriate by her supervisors. A teacher is an assertive and effective communicator, a willing collaborator, and an early childhood teacher for children of ALL abilities. 
Supervisors: Chief Executive Officer and Head of School; REP Lead Teacher
Minimum responsibilities:
Professionalism: follow program policies and procedures.
Health and Safety: Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom environment, follow NAEYC, TRS, and licensing standards for sanitation and cleanliness throughout the school day.

Child Care: Engage playfully with all children under the guidance of the lead REP teacher.
Professional development: Assist with material and activity prep and implementation; follow curricular decisions made by team and/or administration.
Team player: Collaborate with teaching team, other teachers, therapists, and directors to grow professionally and to maintain the order and operations of the school.
REP teachers: Maintain and follow a developmentally appropriate schedule of quiet and active play; Ensure needs of feeding and toileting are met in a timely manner; plan and prepare enriching activities; Follow with fidelity sanitation/disinfection procedures
