Health Educator
EndsideOut is hiring a Health Educator, this position is responsible for the assessment, planning, coordination and implementation of health education program(s) and health promotion activities to improve the health in under-served communities.
The Health Educator will oversee and manage the health education resource component of our program. Assist with the development, organization and supervision of health education programs and materials for each location. Develop and manage program tracking systems. Work closely with, and communicate effectively with the Youth Health Coordinator and Nurse Coordinators. Provide input in the program development of wellness programs and interventions. Conduct presentations at community-based organizations if needed.
Build and enhance a mutual and interactive relationship with our service area communities, and various community-based organizations, including schools, and other organizations. Identify new and maintain existing relationships with community organizations where outreach efforts can be conducted and health education workshops can be offered for the community at large. Monitor and evaluate targeted intervention practices. Conduct reminder and follow-up phone calls to participants of our health education programs. Coordinate and manage health education services tracking and submit monthly reports to the Executive Director. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings. Act as a liaison between community organizations and community agencies, as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or (seeking a master’s degree) in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition or related field OR a Bachelor’s degree or (seeking) working knowledge of health education issues and programs including nutrition, lifestyle and behavioral issues - preferred
