Health Insurance Client Support Specialist
Temporary Position: September – December 2020

Prosper Health Coverage is a program of Foundation Communities. The goal of the Prosper Health Coverage program is to help community members enroll in affordable health insurance through the federal Marketplace and use their insurance to access care. Each year, we hire a team of temporary staff to help us enroll thousands of community members in health insurance during the six-week Open Enrollment period from November 1 to December 15.

A key position on the team this year is the Health Insurance Client Support Specialist. The team of Client Support Specialists will serve as the first point of contact for clients seeking information and assistance with enrolling in affordable health insurance through the federal Marketplace. Paid training is provided; no prior experience with health insurance is required.

Job Responsibilities                                                                                    
·      Provide client assistance and support by phone
·      Answer client questions and share information about the program’s new, remote enrollment process
·      Participate in phone banking campaign to previous clients
·      Help determine client eligibility for Marketplace plans and financial assistance
·      Follow privacy procedures to protect clients’ personal identifiable information
·      Enter client information accurately in the program database
·      Other duties as assigned

·      Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
·      Ability to provide superior customer service by phone to clients with diverse identities and needs
·      Ability to engage with under-served and under-represented populations
·      Ability to be flexible, learn quickly, and multi-task
·     Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Full-time and part-time schedules are available, with options for daytime, evening, and weekend hours. The position pays $15/hour. Due to COVID-19 safety concerns, Client Support Specialists will be expected to work from home, though the program will provide necessary training and equipment. The timeline for this position is September to December 2020, with an opportunity to transition to a part-time or full-time temporary position on our tax team from January to April 2021 for those who are interested and meet necessary qualifications.
