Web-base Data Design Support Internships

The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command’s Chemical Biological Center (CCDC-CBC) serves as the Department of Defense's primary technical organization for non-medical chemical and biological defense. The CBC is offering a unique ORISE opportunity that will support Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Joint Science and Technology Office (JSTO) in a tasked mission to develop, store and maintain a database/website interface. Under the guidance of a mentor, you will take part in transferring data from As an ORISE participant at the CBC you a database/website design based on a Linux OS and MySQL Database system to two Windows 2016 servers storing the data in a SQL Server Database, configuration management, design new web-page interface and provide update briefings to Senior Management. As an ORISE participant, you will learn to develop project management charts, perform configuration management, and review software code and develop databases.

Appointment Length
An ORISE appointment period can be a short-term (less than 12 months), summer (10-12 weeks), or yearlong appointment. Faculty appointments are generally for 10-12 weeks during the summer, but appointments during the academic year are also available. Appointments may be extended depending on funding availability, project assignment, program rules, and availability of the participant.
Participant Benefits
Participants will receive a stipend to be determined by USACCBC. Stipends are typically based on the participant’s academic standing, discipline, experience, and research facility location. Other benefits may include the following:

Nature of Appointment
The Participant will not enter into an employee/employer relationship with ORISE, ORAU, DOD, or any other office or agency. Instead, the participant will be affiliated with ORISE for the administration of the appointment through the ORISE appointment letter and Terms of Appointment.
