Under limited supervision, the Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation and administration of server hardware, operating systems and core infrastructure components, both on-premises and in the cloud. The Systems Engineer exhibits a positive example to peers and is able to collaborate with others to complete objectives. Plays a key role in the Credit Union’s service and support organization and enables business units to reach their goals by supporting various projects and by maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT services. Helps to defines technology standards including policies and procedures.

Essential Function Description
Infrastructure Management
  • Responsible for administering infrastructure environments including VMware, SolarWinds, Nutanix and Cisco UCS.
  • Deep understanding of Active Directory and Active Directory management.
  • ·Strong understanding of systems lifecycle management and ownership of infrastructure hardware including standalone servers, blade environments and hyper-converged systems.
  • Proactive ownership of multiple SAN (Nutanix/Pure/NetApp) environments to include firmware upgrades, environment expansions, system migrations and data replications.
  • Improve productivity in delivery orchestration, proactive monitoring, self-healing automation and operations validations
  • Solve problems related to critical services and build automation to proactively detect and prevent their re-occurrences
  • Work successfully with vendors to lead upgrades and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Leverage scripting and automation tools to improve efficiency and quality.
Infrastructure Cloud Services
  • Support a cloud first strategy including application cloud readiness assessments, on-premises to cloud migrations and cloud proof-of-concepts.
  • Maintain and deploy cloud services including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions.

  • Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years demonstrated experience in server operating systems management within an enterprise environment preferred.
  • Five (5) years of specialized experience with hardware integration, virtual environments and data storage preferred.
  • Minimum for two (2) years demonstrated experience managing cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google cloud) preferred.
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure projects with hands on migration expertise on public clouds such as AWS and Azure preferred.
  • Experience administering Office 365 preferred.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications, etc.
  • Superb analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) with the ability to communicate effectively with staff of varying technical expertise.
  • Proven experience in solving problems and researching issues with minimal supervision.
  • Certifications in VMware or Microsoft preferred.
  • Certifications in Azure or AWS preferred.
  • Must be bondable.
