Campus of Care – COVID-19 – Student Public Health Ambassadors
Georgia State University has taken multiple steps to create a healthy environment for students, staff, and faculty during the unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are seeking graduate and undergraduate students to serve as Student Public Health Ambassadors. The Ambassadors will be part of the Campus of Care, public health campaign, to address the needs of students as we navigate academic success during a pandemic. The Campus of Care Committee is a collaborative effort between the School of Public Health and the Division of Student Success.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time and in good academic standing
- Ability to work independently with personal accountability, as well as collaboratively
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Ethical judgement and sound decision-making skills
- Skilled in Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tik-Tok and Facebook
- Maintain an active social media account with at least 200 followers
Please note: Paid training is mandatory for all Student Public Health Ambassadors and is scheduled prior to the semester beginning.
Time Commitment & Responsibilities
- The Student Public Health Ambassadors can be available up to 10 hours a week, but not to exceed (actual number may vary, subject to demand) during the fall 2020 semester
- Commit to attending and participating in mandatory virtual trainings (i.e., COVID-19 101 Training on August 13, along with additional virtual training like the Certified Peer Education Training)
- Facilitate virtual training sessions with faculty throughout the semester, based on need
- Post pre-approved social media content on personal account as a Student Pubic Health Ambassador
- Create social media content to be used for the Campus of Care public health campaign
- Serve as a student member of the Campus of Care committee
