Financial Grants Manager
Job Description
Reporting to the Financial and Administrative Director of the Framingham Heart Study Center, the Financial Grants Manager position is responsible for post award administration of federal and non-federal grants and contracts from the time of award through closeout of the project. The most critical component of this job is forecasting and managing expenditures for 8+ PIs, while ensuring proper salary coverage for 90+ faculty and staff and compliant spend-down on over 35 funding sources totaling more than $70 million, many of which include subcontracts to external institutions.
Routine activities include reconciling expenditures, maintaining monthly salary distributions for ~90 faculty and staff, preparing financial and deliverable reports for the main FHS contract along with other contributions to ad hoc requests. To properly manage these budgets, the candidate will need to develop strong working relationships with a wide variety of personnel, from faculty, to department managers at the Heart Study and our numerous partner institutions. Being able to adapt to multiple working styles while displaying discretion and professionalism is a must.
The ideal candidate must be able to think critically, and act proactively, taking ownership of their work. Candidates must be able to display an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft Power BI, or similar products is a plus, and training opportunities will be provided.
Required Skills
- Masters Degree preferred
- Bachelors required along with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- This position is partially grant-funded and will on occasion require travel to Framingham
