SDL, a University Affiliated Research Center, has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

The Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking an experienced ISSO to work with our security team. This position is located at our Stafford, Virginia site.

· Designing, installing, configuring, administering, securing, and tuning and accrediting Windows server and desktop operating systems, applications, services, and components in an enterprise environment and in a timely and efficient manner.

· The selected candidate must be able to respond, identify, and remediate any issues related to server availability or performance that affect end users.

· Develop, Implement, and administer security plans, programs, and policies for the protection of classified or proprietary materials, documents, hardware, and equipment.

· Maintain compliance with the US Government security regulations and directives.

· Participate in internal and external security compliance assessment reviews and performs self-inspections to ensure compliance with government and company regulations/requirements.

· Conduct new employee security briefings, annual security refresher briefings, derivative classification training, exit interviews, debriefings, investigating and reporting security violations and incident reports.

 Required Qualifications:

· BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science, BIS, Engineering, or related computer field or 5 years of work experience and certifications

· Experience with Risk Management Framework and System Accreditations

· Experience with Security Tools such as Nessus, McAfee and SCAP

· Experience with Windows servers and an Active Directory environment

· Experience with Exchange, VMWare ESXi, SQL, and Active Directory services

· Working knowledge of IIS, DNS, WSUS, DHCP, workstation imaging and general networking

· Understanding of Information Systems security best practice and use of security tools and practice

· Strong organizational skills, quick learner, and demonstrated problem solving

· Able to apply knowledge to complex practical situations

· Work well independently and as part of a team

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and can effectively communicate and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external customers

· Willing to perform maintenance on systems outside of core business hours as required (Business often operates 24/7 and maintenance is performed during off daytime hours)

· Must be a US citizen with a top secret security clearance

· Understanding and experience with backup services, business continuity, and replication, is a significant advantage.

· Understanding and experience with Solar Winds products such as Patch Manager and Log and Event Manager is a plus.

· Understanding of Linux Distributions and security best practices

· Understanding of Cisco switches and network security best practices

· Industry certifications
