Beauty Clinical Data Engineer, Associate Scientist BS/MS

 The future will be digitized! The Beauty Clinical Sciences Organization is seeking a Data Engineer/Instrumentation Expert, Associate Scientist, to lead the implementation of new and existing methods for the capture, integration and storage of human subject data for analysis by Clinical Statisticians. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about being an innovative thought leader focused on delivering solutions via computer programming to manage big data sets and integrating multiple data capture modalities (instrumentation, direct data entry, etc.) into clinical’s proprietary electronic Case Report Forms (eCRF) database. Additionally, the candidate must have an interest in and/or ability to develop skills to enable systems integration of in vivo skin biophysical instrumentation. The Beauty Clinical Organization partners closely with product and technology development to design and deliver clinical studies for claims support, credentialing, decision making, and fundamental understanding. The data management function enables millions of data points from clinical studies to be easily captured via instrumentation, imaging systems, study subjects and/or staff and structured for efficient data analysis and data mining for today’s data sets and tomorrow’s data ecosystems. 
 
If you want to join us, you will need: 
Formal Training and Experience- BS or MS degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, IT, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or other quantitative/scientific discipline.   
 
We are also looking for someone who has:      
    * Proficiency in Computer Programming Languages and Software
    * Proficiency in the Python programming language
    * Awareness/ability to navigate 1-2 of the following programming languages: VB/VBA, SQL, C-Sharp, JavaScript, etc.)
    * Experience with devices like Raspberry Pi’s, Arduino’s, etc.
    * MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
    * Willingness to upskill as job requirements/programming languages change
    * Leadership Skills- Proven track record of leading projects, teams, and coaching/mentoring others. Has demonstrated ability to build capability via own skills and the ability to develop others. Builds diverse, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to enable project success.
    * Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills- Ability to communicate complex data engineering processes into language and concepts that are easily understood and able to be applied by collaborators.
    * Innovative Mindset- Track record or interest in learning new programming languages to enable forward focused thinking and development of new data capture and storage tools, often working from existing tools/platforms (e.g., MS Access). Ability to use computer programming skills to solve tough technical challenges associated with data acquisition from instrumentation/imaging systems, direct data entry, questionnaire development, etc. Applies academic background in science and technology, practical hands-on experience, and sound scientific method approach to generate and interpret data, solve problems, and make discoveries and connections that provide relevant technical contributions against project needs and problem resolution.
    * Project Management Skills- Strong leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills to enable project delivery on tight timelines while managing multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail.
