UX Student Designer (Work study), Information Technology Services ITS

Information Technology Services is looking for a talented user experience student designer to join our team.

 

As part of the UX team, our ideal team member has practical problem solving skills, a passion for simplicity and is driven to develop thoughtful design solutions that create meaningful user experiences. In addition, they should have the ability to collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to explore multiple design solutions to a given problem or feature and refine them through research and iterative testing to ensure a clean and focused experience.

 

Responsibilities:

•            Visualize and communicate information, data visualization and other design challenges

•            Assist with various user research activities, including user testing, interviews, and observations

•            Produce final design assets (high-fidelity screens) for web and mobile from existing wireframes and plans

•            Work creatively around technical constraints

•            Performs research and makes recommendations for adopting relevant emerging design trends

  

Skills and Experience

Necessities:

•            An ability to take conceptual briefs or wireframes and bring them to life through sketching or design tools.

•            Proficiency in the tools of the trade (i.e. Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, InVision, etc.)

•            Ability to gracefully present and defend your design decisions in a collaborative, fast-paced production environment

•            Strong interest in mobile and web UI with an aptitude for learning new technologies.

•            Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills in a clear, concise, respectful and direct manner

•            A passion for tinkering

 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

•            Prototyping skills for web and mobile experiences

•            Motion design and illustration skills

 

Candidates must share a portfolio to be considered for the role
