Television News Writer

mxdwn is a news site bringing “all that matters in entertainment” to its readers. In the mxdwn Television department, we strive to cultivate engaging relevant content as well as entertaining to our readers. We are currently looking for passionate writers with a strong interest in television as well as a strong voice to provide accurate, engaging, and relevant reporting. Our dedicated and self-driven reporters cover breaking stories on amazing shows that people are talking about around the world. Examples include, but are not limited to, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Last Kingdom, Barry, A Handmaid’s Tale, Atlanta, Succession, American Horror Story, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

mxdwn Television News Writers are expected to stay on top of and keep up to date with TV news. Successful writers will select topics that are relevant, fresh, and interesting. They assimilate information from a variety of sources, conduct their own additional research as needed, and then combine all of this into a structured, engaging article.

While in this role, you will be assigned to write stories on your designated writing days and expected to complete them by the end of the day. You'll work with the Television News Editor to improve your news-writing style, get exposure to your writing through our readership, and gain knowledge in working with WordPress.

If you want to attain experience in the industry, get your name out there, and/or share television news with individuals around the world, this could be a great opportunity for you. Interested writers should send a resume and cover letter to Adam Lewis at lewiaj17@wfu.edu. In your cover letter, explain which show (or shows) you believe to be the best on TV right now and why.
