Willamette Events Board Member - Event Planner (2020-2021)

Willamette Events Board (WEB) is a student organization that provides bi-weekly events for all Willamette students. The purpose of WEB is to provide programs that compliment, respect, and respond to the Willamette University community.
 
Time Commitment and Responsibility:
 
Appointment begins Fall and ends in May of this academic year (with May 2020 training and transition dates, see below for details). WEB Members are responsible to develop, plan, execute, and reflect on events that are open to all students part of the college of liberal arts. WEB Members should maintain a professional and collaborative environment through their appointment on the board and when acting under the capacity of WEB. 
 
Duties Include:
  • Plan and implement campus-wide events which fall into (but are not limited to) the following areas: social events, awareness/discussion/ dialogue, performing arts
  • Manage a budget for each event planned
  • Work shifts at all WEB events
  • Share responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and organization of WEB office and supplies.
 
Time Commitments Include:
  • Attend weekly board meetings (Mondays at 7 pm)
  • Hold regular office hours (2 hours/week) in the Office of Student Activities
  • Work a total of 5-6 hours a week including office hours, events, and weekly Monday meetings 
  • Work and attend the following transition events for incoming and outgoing WEB members:
  • StarJam - May 2, 2020 - 10 am - 8 pm (shifts available)
  • Midnight Breakfast - May 6, 2020 7-11:45 pm
  • Attend 1 training each semester (required) Fall mandatory training is 9/11/20 from 4-9 pm. Spring 2021 training is TBA
  • Support WEB events by saving the dates and being available to work the following dates/times:
  • Midnight Breakfast - December 13, 2020 7-11:45 pm
  • Family Weekend Trivia Night - October 2, 2020 6-10 pm
  • Family Weekend Comedy Night - October 3, 2020 8-11:30 pm
  • Midnight Breakfast - May TBA
  • A Black Tie Affair - March 5, 2021 4:45 - 11:55 pm
  • StarJam 2021 - TBA
  • Attend the NACA West regional conference: November 18-21 in Spokane, WA. Transportation, registration, and meals provided. (Optional opportunity).
Qualification Standards
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Highly Organized; able to efficiently prioritize and manage projects and time.
  • Successful clearance of a conduct record inquiry by the Office of Student Affairs
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
 
Compensation: Leadership Award of $650/semester
Compensation will through a Leadership Award. A Leadership Awards is a scholarship that is disbursed into student accounts each semester through Financial Aid. Funds can be left in a student's account to apply towards tuition and fees or can be withdrawn from the account in the form of a reimbursement (through Student Accounts).
