Denver Mayor's Office of Administration Internship

The Denver Mayor's Office of Administration is seeking an unpaid, part-time Intern to assist the Director of Boards and Commissions with mayoral boards and commissions, administrative matters, special projects and other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or requested.  This position is for Summer 2020.  This opportunity is available from May/June 2020 – August/September 2020.  This is a part-time internship requiring 15 – 20 hours per week during normal business hours and with a consistent schedule each week (for example, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).  We will work with your college, university to accommodate the requirements of you school’s internship program.
 
The intern will experience a fast-paced, professional environment specific to office administration and learn about the Mayor and his initiatives, Denver municipal government and public services. The intern will report to the Director of Administration and Mayor Hancock’s Executive Assistant and will be trained in formal and informal training sessions when embarking on a new task, while receiving real-time feedback on performance, as well as a review at the end of the internship.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with the Mayor’s Office of Administration team
  • Assist in event planning
  • Aid with special projects
  • Data entry and administrative support
  • Aid with personnel or HR filing
  • Other duties as assigned
This is an unpaid internship with the City and County of Denver. 

About You
  • Pursuing a degree in a Business Administration, Event Planning, Public Relations or related field  
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite 
  • Passion for providing excellent customer service
  • Sound understanding and experience in writing, proofreading, grammar and spelling
  • Top notch organizational skills
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Consistent track record of being dependable and reliable
  • Proven to be trustworthy
