Financial Analyst Internship
The Analyst Intern will be primarily responsible for assisting in 1) property underwriting and market analysis on potential acquisitions and 2) the asset management of Ansonia’s existing portfolio, reporting to the Financial Analyst and the Director of Acquisitions. The Financial Analyst Intern may also work on due diligence, asset upgrade plans, performance analyses, budgeting and reforecasting, quarterly investment reporting and other ad hoc analyses and projects.
This is a paid full-time position. The internship will run from May-August 2020.
Key Job Functions
· Assist Financial Analyst in modeling potential acquisitions, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, evaluation of alternate financing structures, and discounted cash flows
· Acquire and analyze data from comparable properties including occupancy, rents, operating expense, utilities and real estate taxes
· Track deal pipeline & manage deal flow
· Acquire and analyze data from target markets including rent growth, employment, permits, and supply and demand trends to identify actionable insights
· Update financial and operational dashboards to assist acquisition and asset management teams
· Coordinate and assist with due diligence, including property acquisitions, loan closings, dispositions
· Assist with annual budget process
· Prepare ad hoc analyses for senior management and property management affiliate
Qualifications
Required
· Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
· GPA 3.5 or above
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Ability to listen, synthesize information, ask relevant questions
· Ability to prioritize, track and manage multiple projects
· Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively
Preferred
· Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
· Demonstrated analytical acumen
· 2+ years of college completed
