Director of Water/Wastewater Services

Position Purpose
We are looking for an experienced professional who will lead the development and growth of a water/wastewater team for CM. The candidate will perform a wide range of administrative and managerial tasks, be self-motivated, organized, reliable, confident, and team-oriented. He/she will be the engineer-in-charge and have experience with projects specific to water/wastewater planning and design, water quantity and quality, wastewater master planning, sewer system design, stormwater management, floodplain management, dam safety planning and design, green infrastructure planning and design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for open waterways and closed storm and sanitary sewers, regulatory compliance, water and wastewater system studies/reports and associated design of improvements. He/she should be excited to build a team consistent with CM values and culture. The successful candidate will be committed to the expansion and success of water/wastewater services.
Typical Activities
Work is performed in an open office environment utilizing a company-owned computer and email/telephone for tasks and communication. Administrative duties will be performed under minimal supervision. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Proposal writing
- Serve as the point person for hiring, training, developing, and maintaining water/wastewater staff
- Schedule meetings and appointments
- Partner with HR and finance to maintain office policies and budgets
- Work closely with senior level management to assist with development of water/wastewater services
- Oversee the progress of the water/wastewater team
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the company in relation to water/wastewater services.
Key Skills, Competencies, Experience and Certifications required:
- BS in Civil Engineering, or related degree, and a minimum of 15 years of technical experience
- Have an Ohio Professional Engineering license
- Strong administration, organizational, and communication skills
- A record of successful proposal writing, including technical approach preparation
- Ability to assess the water/wastewater market and identify current and prospective opportunities
- Positive reputation within the local infrastructure design community (e.g., municipalities, counties, townships)
- Proven networking skills
- Experience hiring, leading, and managing staff
