IT Service Desk Student Consultant

The University of Rhode Island IT Service Desk is seeking candidates that enjoy customer service and demonstrate a desire to learn.
 
As a Student Consultant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Connecting devices to the university network (e.g. wireless onboarding) and troubleshooting internet connectivity issues.
  • Assisting users with accessing and using university-sponsored software (e-Campus, Brightspace, Zoom, Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and more).
  • Troubleshooting issues with users’ personal devices (e.g. iOS, Mac, Windows, Android).
 
Proficiency in technology is not required for this position. A successful candidate should show a willingness to ask questions and learn about technology. They should also have the patience and communication skills to walk users through troubleshooting or setup processes.
