Family & Youth Supervisor/Program Manager I

This is a regular, full time position for a Program Manager I to work as a Supervisor in a clinic-based setting, on the Family and Youth team. This person will be responsible for program evaluation, teaching professional techniques and skills, and will provide consultation and information around activities encompassing a wide spectrum of community agencies and professional disciplines. Duties include providing primary clinical and administrative supervision to the Human Services staff, including case load assignments; providing leadership assistance to the Program Manager, which involves confidential contact with staff supervised; and developing and navigating relationships with local and state partners around program services and supports. THIS IS A NON-BARGAINING POSITION.

The successful candidate will have excellent skills in organization, paperwork management, and communication – both verbally and in writing, in addition to typing and computer proficiency and will be dependable, organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to interact with co-workers, clients, and the public in a courteous, professional manner. Other requirements include working knowledge and skill with diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment planning techniques specifically related to community mental health services and the abilities to: understand the behavior of people under stress; develop cooperative relationships with clients, their families, and the community; maintain relationships with physicians, law enforcement agencies, the courts, public and private administrators; interpret community mental health and chemical dependency services; and prepare concise and complete client treatment and progress records. Individuals with experience in human services management, a passion for public service, and a willingness to listen and learn from a diverse team are encouraged to apply.

A Master’s degree or advanced training in a related field and five years of relevant experience with

progressive responsibilities in program administration or supervision is required. Graduate level course work and training may be substituted for up to two years’ experience. Behavioral Health Management positions must have or be able to be credentialed as a QMHP. In addition to experience and leadership and/or supervisory roles, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential is preferred. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience
